East Hills Online Wine ClubDescriptions of White Wines in the $189 Case
Bright, open-textured and appealing for its fig, peach and tobacco flavors, finishing polished. Drink now. 15,700 cases made.
Wine Spectator Score: 92 A fruit-centered wine, this sings with pear, grapefruit and peach aromas and flavors, perched enticingly on a lithe frame, with subdued oak notes lingering on the periphery. It's the texture, though, that makes it so attractive, polished and refined. Drink now through 2010.
Wine Spectator Score: 90 Showing a sense of restraint, this wine finds a comfortable balance between tangy flavors of apple and star fruit against a lithe texture and mere hints of spicy oak that flit around the edges. The finish persists, pulling everything together nicely and letting it echo. Drink now through 2008.
California, USA Tropical fruit aromas (pineapple, melons, and mangoes) jump from the glass of the 2004 Chardonnay. There is little evidence of wood in this fruit-driven, clean, pure, tasty Chardonnay. It needs to be consumed during its first 12 months of life. It is probably one of the two best Chardonnay values in the world.
Country: California Our 2005 Russian River Valley Chardonnay begins with rich aromas, highlighted by fresh peaches, apple and vanilla. The wine's superior structure and balance has a backbone of crisp apple, peach and creamy vanilla flavors that continue flawlessly on to a ripe and elegant finish. 14,600 Cases Made.
Wine Spectator Score: 91 A classic golden straw-colored Chardonnay, showing a full body with the elegance of a crisp finish influenced by the coastal fog of the Russian River Valley. This wine features a beautiful balance of tropical fruits, mineral notes, oak and bright lively acidity. This balance will offer fullness in the mouth, without being unctuous, and ends in a delicate lingering finish.
Wine Spectator Score: 90 Fresh and lively, appealing for its zingy grapefruit flavor, hinting at peach and lime as the finish keeps zipping along. Drink now. 85,000 cases made.
St Michael Eppan has been named winery of the year from Gambero Rosso; this wine has loads of bartlet pear and citrus aromas and flavors; very crisp yet elegant and soft on the finish.
Wine Spectator Score: 89 Extremely fresh and floral with lemons and flowers on the nose. Full-bodied, with lots of character and bright acidity. Long and lively. Almost as outstanding as the 2003. Drink now. 4,200 cases made.

Best enjoyed young (within 2 years of the vintage).
Country: California This Sauvignon Blanc is round and full with a crisp, refreshing tang of grapefruit on the palette and a bit of honeysuckle in the nose. 617 Cases Produced.
85 Points by Stephen Tanzer Fragrant aromas of spearmint, flowers and lichee. Juicy, spicy and on the lean side, with mineral, licorice and mint flavors. Offers good intensity and cut&ldots; but this is classic Torrontes, and a good accompaniment to spicy Thai food.
