1. 2003 Ringbolt Cabernet Sauvignon

Margaret River, Western Australia, Australia
Cabernet Sauvignon (a dry red table wine)
Wine Advocate #161 (Oct 2005) Robert Parker89 points  Drink 2010

A delectable value in complex, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, this dark plum-hued 2003 was aged in French oak barrels. It exhibits abundant amounts of sweet cassis fruit, a striking minerality, and notions of licorice, cedar, and subtle wood. Beautifully made and elegant with serious flavor depth, it should drink well for 4-5 years.

2.  2003 Jim Barry Cabernet Sauvignon

The Cover Drive
South Australia, Australia
Cabernet Sauvignon (a dry red table wine)
Wine Advocate #161 (Oct 2005) Robert Parker90 points Drink Now

The outstanding 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon The Cover Drive, a knock-out value, represents one of the finest bargains in Cabernet Sauvignon in the marketplace. Terrific minty, black currant aromas jump from the glass of this savory, fleshy, medium to full-bodied, silky-textured, luscious Cabernet.

3.  2001 Bodegas Sierra Cantabria Rioja

Cuvee Especial
Rioja, Spain
Dry Red Table Wine
Wine Advocate #159 (Jun 2005) Robert Parker93 points Drink 2005-2015

Obviously a great vintage makes all the difference as evidenced by the 2001 Cuvee Especial. This unfiltered 100% Tempranillo (30-year old vines) was aged in 60% American and 40% French oak before being bottled unfiltered. A stunning value, it reveals gorgeous aromatics (graphite, cigar smoke, sweet cherries and black currants, and loamy, dusty, earthy notes), a layered, opulently textured personality, admirable purity, decent acidity, and copious freshness as well as fruit. This beauty can be drunk now or cellared for a decade or more.

4.  2003 Cartlidge and Browne Cabernet Sauvignon

Cartlidge and Browne
California, USA
Cabernet Sauvignon (a dry red table wine)
87+ Ratings from Robert Parker 9 Years in a Row!!

A broader, riper wine than its predecessor, the 2004 Cabernet offers aromas of baked black fruits - especially black cherry, and currant - coffee bean and fragrant sweet tobacco.  Its palate is full and expansive; the generosity of the rich cherry/blackberry fruit is nicely framed by the spice and toastiness of oak.  A perfect match for grilled red meats and game, it is equally delicious with poultry dishes, stews, and heary risottos.
