Last year, Maldonado released their second vintage of Chardonnay made by Abe Schoener. This wine signaled the emergence of a world-class talent that thankfully still has not been fully discovered. That won't last forever.  By now the name should be familiar. Maldonado is the wine that put his talent on my radar with the 2002 vintage and made it to Vinfolio's "Top 20 of 2004" scoring 97 points.  320 Cases Made!

The nose is toasty, buttered hazelnuts with soft lemon, mineral and wet stone scents. The mouth entry is soft and richly silky with lush, focused flavors of lemon flesh, apple and citrus blossom, with a drizzle of anise and vanilla bean on the finish. Drink: 2005-2010.
